This exciting program highlights the beauty, passion, and depth of Flamenco, a beautifully expressive art form originating from the gypsies of southern Spain. Flamenco has broad popularity not only throughout Spain but throughout the world as well. We will explore the historical roots of Flamenco, its current relevance to Spanish culture, and experience all of the facets and ranges of expression that Flamenco can convey. Flamenco uses intricate guitar, dance, and song as its platform for expression. Anna will be joined by guitarist Richard Marlow, Flamenco singer Carlton Ashton and dancer Sara Jerez, four extraordinary artists who have been leading figures in this art form for over a decade.
