Members’ Virtual Tour: Storm King: Art, Nature, and People
Ellen Grenley, associate director of education and public programs
Storm King Art Center is a 500-acre outdoor museum located in New York’s Hudson Valley, where visitors experience large-scale sculpture and site-specific commissions under open sky. Since 1960, Storm King has been dedicated to stewarding the hills, meadows, and forests of its site and surrounding landscape. Storm King’s Associate Director of Education and Public Programs, Ellen Grenley, speaks about how the art center nurtures a vibrant bond between art, nature, and people, and aims to be a place of limitless discovery.
Storm King commissions, collects, exhibits, and conserves modern and contemporary art—from large-scale sculpture situated in Storm King’s expansive landscape, to site-specific earthworks, to related drawings and photographs—to create a dynamic and unique place to explore art in nature.
