Members’ Virtual Tour: What’s New: Contemporary Architecture in Chicago’s Loop

Starting right where you left off last week, Mary Jo will take you to explore the newest skyscrapers in Chicago. The Optima Signature designed by David Hovey is a vibrant residential building completed in 2017. Natural elements influenced the design of the 475 N. Park residential tower. And One Bennett Park, envisioned by A.M. Stern Architects, is a residential high-rise with its own 1.7 acre park designed by Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates. This live virtual walk will conclude with the St. Regis, one of Chicago’s tallest new towers. This skyscraper was designed by the inimitable firm of Studio Gang, led by Jeannie Gang. Hear about the design influences and problem solving solutions used to create this unique addition to our skyline.
