Cézanne and Nature - Change and Permanence
Aneta Georgievska-Shine, professor of art history, University of Maryland
In this lecture, Georgievska-Shine explores Cézanne’s fascination with landscape painting: the seeming unchangeability of nature’s monuments such as Mont Sainte Victoire, his favorite mountain in Provence, but also the way in which this familiar motif can be re-discovered through something as simple as a minor shift in one’s point of view.
